Audrey's 4th Birthday

Thought I Better Do This Now!

I thought I should do one more blog entry since I will be gone this week. Tomorrow Meemaw and Papa come in from Oregon to visit. Also, Uncle Scott and Aunt Kristie and their 4 kids will be here as well. It will be a family reunion of sorts. We are looking forward to having the company. They all get in Monday night and Tuesday morning we will leave for the Kenai for 5 days to fish and camp. The kids are thoroughly excited. Mom is not so excited as it is raining quite a bit here. I am not a camper normally. I don't mind in nice weather. I am going to pray that it gets sunnier. Who knows, we are 4-5 hours from where we are camping. It may be completely sunny weather there. I am just excited to be able to see family though.
Things are really taking shape at the house here. We still have plenty of boxes to go through and all but time will take care of it all. The hard part is mostly done, painting. We only have the kitchen and a few hall closets to paint and we will be done with that for good.
It is hard to believe that August is almost here. The boys start school on August 20th. They are pretty excited, especially Gregory. Mom is probably more excited in some ways. Although I am ready for Gregory to start school I am terribly sad to see him grow so fast. They both just ended their soccer season, and couldn't have ended it any better. Gregory's soccer coach mentioned they may have their team pic in the local newspaper. Gregory thought that would be really neat. They are supposed to let us know.
Once the boys start school Audrey starts her creative movements class. She has her ballet shoes, tights, and leotards already. She can't wait to wear it all. Her birthday is this Friday while we are gone camping. We have a party planned for next Monday night. She is having the Care Bear theme. Four years ago she was born. My oh my!!! Where did my little baby go. She is seeming so grown up now.
Well, all I can hear while I am typing this is my dryer and RAIN! You all pray we have nice weather please!

Taxis pick up the thumbers!

Once again we had to chuckle at a saying from Gregory. The kids are not used to seeing hitch hikers so they always ask what they are doing. We explained that they hold out their thumb so someone will stop and pick them up to give them a ride. We made sure they understood it is not safe to hitch hike or to pick up the hitch hikers. There are several here in Alaska. As we passed a taxi the other day Gregory said, "Mom, taxis pick up the thumbers!" I immediately began to laugh. He asked what was so funny. I told him they are called hitch hikers not thumbers. He grinned really big and said oh, ok. I love those kind of moments.

Mommy's little helpers

It is nice to have 3 little helpers here around the house. There was a fight over who was going to help me vacuum. All 3 of my little munchkins took their turn with the vacuum. They actually did a really good job. The boys now take out the trash and make their own beds. Audrey's job is to unload the silverware basket from the dishwasher. Of course all 3 of them put their clean clothes away after mommy folds them all. The boys have even been helping daddy outside with cleaning up the yard. They enjoy picking up the sticks from the yard and piling them up for the winter fires. Gregory's favorite job is cleaning the toilets!!! Someday I am sure that will change but for now I let him have at it. (of course I have to go behind and get what he missed) :) I sure do enjoy having a little help around the house, it's a nice change. Daddy has always been a great help but he works so hard all day it is nice having someone fill in for him. Now daddy can have more time to himself too!!! Aren't you all jealous of all my help???

Please Help Me Decide

Ok everyone, I need your help please. Look at the slide show and help me decide which pictures to use. They are numbered to make it easier. The boys are decorating their room in a cowboy/western theme. I took some pictures of them and am going to print some and frame them to hang in their room. The problem is I can't figure out which ones to use. I need one of each of the boys by themselves and one of them together. The one of them together will be blown up pretty big and done in a bronze tone. (Let me know if you think they should be in color) The ones of them individually will be smaller than the one of them together. Also done in bronze unless I am out numbered for color. I would appreciate if you would pick one for each category and post a comment with your favorites. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! When the room is done I will post pics. We are almost done.
By the way, Audrey wanted to be a part of it all too! So hence the pics of her.

Audrey First Bike Ride!

Boy was it a big day for Audrey! She recently learned how to ride her bike and has been enjoying it since. She actually feels like she can keep up with her big brothers. Daddy let her go on her first bike ride with him and the boys today. She was thrilled to pieces over it all. She has never felt like a such girl! Mommy can't hardly believe it herself. She is growing up so fast. We are proud of you Audrey!
