has only been 20 minutes away from our front door. Last weekend Robert had a chance to go snow mobiling with a soccer dad from our team. Little did Robert know what he was getting into. He was on the snow mobile for 7 hours straight! He could hardly move the next day he was so sore. He enjoyed it though. This nice gentlemen took him to Hatchers Pass to ride. It was only about 20-30 minutes drive from our front door>(it depends how far up into the mountains you want to go) So this weekend I was telling Robert how I had a deadline to get some photos turned in for a competition at work. The requirements were to take a picture of a building, of a statue, and of a car. The only draw back was it had to be something in Alaska. So Robert suggested we go to Hatchers Pass. Talk about being spontaneous! So we all jumped in the car and off we went. Twenty minutes later I found myself in awe of all this beauty that had been so close to me all this time. Yeah we have seen so much beauty already but this was even more awe inspiring to me. We have a set of mountains right next to where we live which in turn gives us a little more snow than others. Hatchers Pass goes directly between the mountains. I got some amazing photos and we all had an incredible time. I was glad I had not known that was where Robert was going to snow machine. I couldn't believe what they had done. It was some pretty high jumps and steep inclines. We even got to see some people snow machining(That is what Alaskans call it) while we were there. Gregor's eyes got so big and asked if he could go snow machining there. Will he always be such a dare devil??? I am afraid he will be. There is little that frightens this young man. Thankfully Robert told him it was too dangerous for him. I think Robert had been a little frightened himself. What you see in the pic is where he was snow machining. He wasn't on the peaks of the mountains though. The one with the sunshine is part of where he was though. Anyway, I absolutely loved my time there and wanted to share this God given beauty with you all. I trust you all had a great weekend as well.

An Act of Love
At church on Wednesday nights Gregory and Audrey have been learning about the fruits of the Spirit. We recently have been talking about love and different ways we can show our love to others. Before this, Audrey and I had decided she would donate her hair to Locks of Love. She has been excited about it. Then we learned about showing love towards others. We had decided that at the end of the summer her and I would donate our hair together. On Friday Audrey decided to try and cut it herself. So we ended up going to get her hair cut sooner. We never really planned on getting it cut so short but in order to donate it to Locks of Love we had to. In the end we all ended up loving the new hair cut. Miss Sarah(from our church) did a wonderful job! Thanks Miss Sarah. If anyone else is interested in donating their hair to Locks of Love please check out this link for more information. http://www.locksoflove.org/donate.html It is a wonderful way to help those going through a difficult time.

Gregory's School party
Today I took a cupcake cake and a McDonalds lunch to Gregory at school to celebrate his birthday. He really is ending up with a weekend long celebration. Today's school party, tomorrow's party at home, and then his actual birthday is on Sunday. We will post pictures as we continue to celebrate. It is hard to believe my Gregor's is turning 6! He had fun today.

Slower Pace
This week has been a slower pace since my work season is starting to slow down. I went and photographed at a day care today. It was so much fun!!! I was done at 12:30too! They are so sweet when they are so little. It doesn't take much to make them smile. I only work one more day tomorrow and my week is over. The schedule is getting much lighter now. I am starting to enjoy this "free" time. I am beginning to catch up on a few things around the house as well. Today is was 54 degrees when I got off work!!! YEAH! The weather is slowly warming up. That is not to say that we won't get more snow yet but I will take the nice weather when it comes! I pray this finds you all having a great week as well.
