Eight Weird Things About Me

I was tagged by a Friend to list eight weird things about me. So here goes nothing!!!

1. If my bed is not made at night I don't like to get in it until I make it. The covers get all twisted up and tangled. It is uncomfortable for me. (Drives my husband crazy!)

2. I don't like to go out in public without doing my hair and make-up. I feel like a slob otherwise.

3. When I go shopping I head straight for the clearance rack and don't stop to look at anything else. (My husband gets embarrassed when I do that because the clearance racks are usually in the back of the store)

4. When I eat a twinkie I like to pull it apart and lick out the filling then eat the rest.

5. When making a Peanut butter and Jelly sandwich I like to make sure that the whole piece of bread is covered with peanut butter and jelly. No empty spots.

6. I don't like to wear flip flops unless my toe nails are painted. I think my feet are ugly. They at least look better when I paint my toe nails.

7. I don't like tomatoes but I do enjoy tomato soup. (My husband thinks that is strange) I mainly don't like the texture.

8. I am not sure what else to put. If anyone can think of something weird about me post it.

Thanks for the tag Rebecca! I now tag my lovely sister Andrea and friend Misty! Don't take too long to do it either!!! :)

Summer Buzz

Now that we are in the summer and no school we still feel as busy as ever. This last weekend was rather relaxing for us. Saturday we took the kids to feed the ducks in town and they really enjoyed that. In fact, the sea gulls kept trying to swipe the bread from the duck. Gregory especially enjoyed feeding the sea gulls.
Sunday night after church our pastor and his family came over to our house and we played Dutch Blitz. It was quite fun and competitive. Since no one had to work the next day it was a late night.
Monday we ALL slept in til 10am. That is extremely unusual because our children are early risers. That was a nice abnormality for a change. Then at 3pm we went to our friends house from church for a BBQ. Yet another enjoyable time once again.
Tuesday Robert started his new job at Providence in Anchorage. The first 2 days were rather boring since it was orientation. Having worked for Providence before he knew most of what they were going over. He is rather excited to be back in the medical realm again though.
Tuesday also brought Gregory to his dentist appointment. This was no regular appointment though. He had gotten his teeth cleaned and had a bad tooth causing him much pain. So Tuesday we were headed to our 4th dentist. To make a long story short because Gregory cried when he went to get it fixed at the 2nd dentist we tried they pretty much kicked us out of the office. I was frustrated with how the dentist treated us, not necessarily that he couldn't do it. So, finally Tuesday we arrive in Anchorage for his appointment at a Pediatric Dentist. Mom was an absolute mess over it because of our past experiences. Gregory was doing great! He really liked all the people there and the dentist himself was phenomenal with him. Our appt. was at 10am for a consultation and x-ray. The dentist was worried about it being abscess. Thankfully he felt it wasn't and said we could come back that day at 1:30 to actually fix his tooth. So we had to occupy 2 hours until then. Of course he couldn't eat much since they were going to give him gas to work on him. He thought the office was a blast. It makes a huge difference how you are treated. He couldn't wait to get back to the office. On the other hand mom was a wreck inside. Of course, mom didn't want Gregory to sense it. One thirty came and it was time for his tooth repair. He did great all the way until they had to numb him. They had to numb right down into the tooth and he didn't care for that much. Once he was numb it was better. Although mom was still struggling. :) After that he didn't feel much he just didn't like what was being done to him. When all was said and done the doctor had to take out part of his nerve and then fill his tooth. All of this resulted in the way his teeth had developed. It couldn't have been helped. Gregory was a very brave boy and mom and dad were both proud of him. He even said he still likes that dentist office! Mom was very tired and worn out at the end of the day from the stress and worry for Gregory.
Last night was the last night for AWANA. We had the award ceremony. Since AWANA was started rather late at this church the kids did not finish their books. They only had 12 AWANA nights total but our kids only made it to 11. Eric did over half of his book though. Gregory came very close to finishing his book as well. There are normally 48 AWANA nights. So, Robert and I were proud of them for doing so much with so little time.
I guess that is enough rambling for now. Later!

Kids say the darndest things!

I just have to share a cute saying from Gregory. We were in the car and I rolled doewn my window and he replied, "I am so freezing hot!" Robert and I looked at each other and cracked up laughing. I had to post this right away so I didn't forget. I love those precious moments.

The Exhausted Audrey

Saturday was a day filled with errands and different appointments. Our poor kids had to sit in the car and go here and there all day. At one point Robert looked back and noticed that Audrey had made herself rather comfortable. We thought it was cute so we took a picture of her "hanging out" in the car. I started to feel bad having them be in a car all day. She was ready for a nap when we got home!

Eric's Roll At The High School Graduation

Eric had to partaicipate in the high school graduation with his class. They all filed in at the beginning and at one point they stood and said a large section of scripture. He was so excited to be a part. He got a little embarassed because him and his friend Natalie had to lead the whole school into the auditorium. He did a great job though. Afterwards we took a picture of him with his teacher, Mrs. Williams. He really likes her and she does great with him. He will have her again next year as his teacher. He is thrilled to be out for the summer but is looking forward to seeing Mrs. Williams again next fall. Gregory will start kindergarten in the fall as well. Our children are growing up way too fast!

Eric loses his 1st tooth!

Sunday night before the stomach flu hit Eric lost his 1st tooth. It ended up being a traumatic event. He let mommy try to pull it out. He said that after one pull if it didn't come out we would leave it alone. We made the deal and pulled at it one time. The one pull brought it half way out. It was kind of hanging there and he wouldn't pull it out the rest of the way. So we had to finish pulling it out against his wishes. He was pretty excited when it did finally come out. He was ready to put it under his pillow for the tooth fairy to come. The tooth fairy must have felt bad for him because she left $5 under his pillow. Eric was sure to tell all his friends at school about his tooth!

Mothers Day Gifts

Daddy and the kids went and picked out some flowers for me. They bought a really nice pot with soil so we could plant them. The church gave out a really pretty geranium flower to all the mothers so they got a few others as well. They really enjoyed celebrating mothers day. All day long one of the kids would say, "I love you mommy!" or "Happy Mothers Day, mommy!" They all took their turn and then some. By the way, these pictures were taken at 9:30 pm. Still daylight out!!! In fact it is daylight til about 11:30pm or later. It was a really nice mothers day for me until about 10:30 pm when the dreaded stomach flu hit. I was up all night that night sick. Robert woke up sick as well. It was pretty pitiful! Robert and I were both in bed all day. Our poor kids! They were so good though and would say, "I'm sorry you are sick" Today is better. I don't feel quite as sick but I am very weak and slightly nauseous. Robert went back to work today. (he probably shouldn't have but he is such a hard worker.) This would have been posted sooner but this stomach flu put a halt to everything. Well, enjoy the pics and have a good week!

Enjoying our weekend

This was a relaxing Saturday for us. Daddy was even able to play baseball with the boys. The 2 neighbor boys joined in as well. Audrey and I were the by standers watching them play. Gregory had a great hit! We got him in action. The picture of the kids on the couch was interesting. We are trying to cut out nap time for Gregory since he has trouble going to bed at a decent hour. The kids had been sitting on the couch watching the movie, "The Longest Day" (old black and white movie) It was getting quiet downstairs but I just thought it was because they were watching a movie. When I finally came down they were all sound asleep on the couch as seen in the picture. They had all been sick with a stomach bug and I think they were just exhausted. On Friday the 3 of them were just sitting on the front porch talking to each other. It was a sweet moment to see them just enjoying each others company. We are looking forward to church tomorrow on this Mothers Day.
Happy Mothers Day Mom! I love you with all my heart and can't thank you enough for just being you, a wonderful mother!

Safe arrival home

We arrived home from the funeral really late last night (or should we say early this morning) It was a difficult time but we are thankful to the Lord for the opportunity to attend. It was a good service, all things considered.
We arrived home to 2 sick boys. It has been quite the excitement here since then.
Things are really busy today. Gregory has a dentist appointment today to get his tooth fixed. Tomorrow Eric has field day at school and next Friday is his last day of the school year. He is really excited.
After that soccer should be starting. Never a dull moment in our home.
Thank you each and every one of you who have kept us and our dear friends in your prayers. Your prayers have been and are greatly appreciated.

Travels

We had asked for prayer for our dear friends and we really do appreciate each of your prayers. We regret to inform you all that their 15 yr old daughter went home to be with the Lord last Monday. The two of us (Robert and Angela) are heading out to Oregon on Thursday pm to pay our respects to Casey. We would appreciate your prayer for safety and for the Stillwell family during their time of grief. We will be gone almost a week. We truly do covet your prayers for this family that means the world to us. Thanks so much.
