Prayer Request

We have some very dear friends whose 15 yr old daughter has cancer and it is a very difficult time for them right now. The doctors had a very bleek prognosis this week humanly speaking. We know that the Lord is the ulimate physician and can do anything. We covet your prayers for them to have strength, courage, and comfort during this time, as well as for their daughter. They have meant a great deal to our family as they have been a big blessing and help to us during Angela's difficult pregnancies. Our hearts ache for them and we continually lift them up in prayer. Thank you for keeping them in your prayers as well.

Best pals!

Since it has been just me, Gregory, and Audrey during the day the two of them have bonded much more. They were having so much fun while Eric was at school. Gregory is very protective of his little sister. She doesn't always think she needs the protecting though! Someday she will appreciate that more. They sure do look out for each other. I feel for Audrey when the fall comes. Her best friend will be in school. At least she still has mommy to be with her.
When Eric gets home though poor Audrey gets pushed aside. (unless she wants to play boy things, as Greg would say) She then tends to cling onto mommy.
Yesterday it was so cute. She was wanting to help me unload the dishwasher. So I gave her the silverware basket and she put them all away. I was watching her and she was being so maticulate and made sure each one lined up correctly with the one beneath it. It was the neatest my silverware drawer has ever been! She did it in such a girly way!
Saturday, finally we were able to sign the boys up for soccer. They were delighted. We will keep you posted when they start.
Hope you all had a great weekend as well.

The big dentist visit

A week or so ago we scheduled a dentist appt for Gregory since he has been complaining about a bad tooth. We had to schedule an appt for May and then be put on a preference list in case of any cancellations. Today we received a call from the dentist office notifying us that Gregory would be able to get in within 25 minutes. We rushed in and he got his teeth cleaned. Unfortunately we did not like the results. There is some work that he will need done. He was a real trooper and let them take all his x-rays, scrape and pick at his teeth, clean his teeth, and do the fluoride treatment. While the hygienist was scraping his teeth he asked her, "When are you going to be done?" She laughed and said "As soon as you have no more sugar bugs on your teeth." Later in the day Gregory was telling Eric all about his visit with the dentist(since he was at school)and told him the they had to get all the "sugar butts" off of his teeth. I reminded him that is was sugar BUGS! :)
We then went and bought him some Act mouthwash and flossing buddies. That was the highlight of his day. Right before bedtime he was bugging us to help him brush his teeth and use his mouthwash. He was so proud of his day at the dentist! We were just as proud of him so for doing so well. In fact, the hygienist told him he could come back anytime to get his teeth cleaned because he sat so still.

Summary of our Weekend

This weekend was really good but very busy. In fact it was so busy we forgot to register the boys for soccer. Fortunately we are still able to register next Sat. It is just important to make sure we sign up for sure this time.
Friday Audrey was delighted to receive a card from Grandma Wallace with a beautiful necklace and matching earrings in it. She has worn them everyday since. So Sunday morning she wanted me to take a picture so she could show everyone how pretty they were. She told me, "That was so nice for Grandma to send me this. I love her!" She really made her day.
Sunday was a really good day at church. We are beginning to really enjoy this church we are currently attending. It is smaller than we are used to but we really feel we come away from each service with something wonderful to take through out the week. They are extremely friendly. In fact, a couple in the church, who have 2 grown daughters took us out for lunch. This is the 3rd family that has invited us out with them. We really enjoy the good Christian fellowship. We are the social type.
We are not sure if this is the exact church for us yet but we sure do like the pastor and the people very much. We pray that the Lord will direct us.
We also were able to celebrate our nieces 3rd birthday this weekend as well. The kids are all just growing up so fast.
We trust each of you were able to have a good and relaxing weekend as well.

Soccer is around the corner

Both Eric and Gregory are very excited because on Saturday we go and register them for soccer. Their season will begin the week of Memorial Day. Gregory is a little disappointed because he is not able to play football. In TN he could have started playing football at the age of 5. So when we lived there we told him he would have to wait until he was 5. Now that he just turned 5 last week he has been expecting to sign up for football. Here in Alaska you can't start in football until 3rd grade. He doesn't quite understand it all but he knows that the only thing he can play is soccer. He is content with that for now. Mom is kind of relieved about the football situation. Dad would have loved to see him start football now. Dad is a football fanatic! I think Gregory will be too once he starts playing.
Eric really has had no interest in football. He is really good at soccer and seems to thrive in it. He has missed playing. We went to an Easter egg hunt that was at the indoor soocer fields. When he saw the indoor soccer field his eyes grew big with excitement. He told me next year he wants to sign up for indoor soccer. He also mentioned that he would like to play basketball. We will see. For now we are sticking with soccer.
Audrey would love to do ballet or gymnastics. When school starts back up in the fall we will enroll her into one or the other. Both the boys will be in school full time and it will give us more time for such activities. She has been patient about it and has not been asking constantly to do this. (unlike her brothers and soccer)
Well, we hope each of you are having a good week. Take care and we will be in touch later!

Easter pictures

Easter Weekend

Saturday we went over to Uncle Tim and Aunt Jessi's house to color Easter eggs. In the meantime the Easter bunny had realized someone had stolen a few of his eggs. Since we were in the middle of coloring eggs he assumed the kids had stolen them. So he booked each one of them for thievery. As you can tell on their faces they were not happy about the sudden assumption. In order to get out they had to post bond. The bond was fairly reasonable so it was not a problem. After great investigation they were proven innocent and were able to resume the egg coloring fun!

Can't you tell we were at a Dean household? You have to make it as interesting as possible. The kids could hardly keep from laughing as we did the line up. The parents had just as much fun with it all. We will post the pics from the egg coloring later. By the way Robert and I have made sure the kids understand that the Easter Bunny is not real but we still have fun. They can tell you the true meaning of Easter.

Anyway, we had a most enjoyable Easter. We had a brunch at church followed by an amazing Easter service. The church was full. It was a blessing to see so many people at church celebrating the Resurrection our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Captain Gregory's Party

Tonight was sure a voyage to remember. Gregory celebrated his 5th birthday party! It is hard to believe he is 5 already. The theme was Pirates of the Caribbean. It all started with a pin the tail on the donkey game followed by a pinata blast. We couldn't go any further until we sang Happy Birthday and cut the cake. Last but not least was time to open the presents. Gregory said that doing the pinata was his favorite part along with blowing out the candles. His favorite gift was his little tech deck finger skateboard. It was so sweet to see him go around the room and give each and every person a great big hug and say, "Thank You." As everyone departed for the evening he replied, "Thank you for coming" and once again gave out hugs.
Not only did he have a great party but daddy came home for lunch break and picked him up for a lunch date. Him and daddy went out to lunch and then went to pick up the cake and pick out the ice cream. What a highlight it was for him.
We Love You Gregory and Happy 5th Birthday big boy!!!!

Thank You For The Military

Yesterday we had to go to Anchorage for our van to be looked at in the car dealer. When we go to Anchorage we tend to see several military in uniform with being so close to the Elmendorf Air Force Base. After being at the car dealer for quite a while I took Gregory and Audrey to Wendy's for lunch. When we walked in, there was about 10 different Air Force men in uniform having lunch. Gregory's eyes got so big. He replied, "Mommy look at the Armies." That is when a whole slew of questions began. Our whole lunch time was spent talking about the military and what their job is. "Do they protect us? Where are their guns? Do they go to war? How do they hide? Do they get the bad guys? Where do they live? Do they have tanks? Do they sleep in tents? Do they fly helicopters?" ETC... This was our conversation over lunch. Poor Audrey didn't get a word in edgewise. Then I was surprised when Gregory said, "Mommy, we should thank them for protecting us." I assured him that was a good idea. Right after this comment 2 men in uniform said hello to him. I asked if he wanted to tell them. He sat there and pointed to 2 other uniformed men and said I will tell them. They just laughed and went on their way. He must have been intimidated by those 2 who said hello. So on our way out we approached the other 2 uniformed men. I let them know my son wanted to tell them something. They bent down and said, "What was that buddy?" He looked them in the eye and said, "Thank you for protecting me." It was wonderful to see a big grin come across both of the men's faces. "Your welcome!" was their reply.
We then got in the car and Gregory said, "Mommy, we should pray for the soldiers." Again I agreed it was what God would want and that we would pray for them.
He was so intrigued by it all. You could see the wheels turning in his head. Thank the Lord for our military men!

Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday we went to the Wasilla Sports Complex for a Easter Egg Hunt, hosted by a church by our house. We just thought that the kids would enjoy it so we decided to take them. They did several drawings. There were approximately 200 kids there or more. When they did the drawing, low and behold, they called out Eric's name. He won a bike! Unfortunately they gave him a 12 in. bike. It is too small for him but he said Audrey can have it since she can't reach her peddles on her 16 in. bike. We were shocked since we usually never win any kind of drawings. After the drawings they did the eggs. It was rather fun for all of us. A little hectic and chaotic with so many people but hey we were spending time together as a family. The kids are looking forward to Easter next Sunday. The church we are going to attend is having a brunch. It will be enjoyable for us to be able to fellowship with other believers. We are thankful to be able to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
